GDPR – Privacy Policy at British Mindfulness Academy
1. General Statement for this Privacy Policy
Mindfulness and Psychology Academy International Limited (trading as British Mindfulness Academy, registration number: 569686) is a company offering mindfulness training to professionals, schools and individuals. We also offer other psychological and personal development services, including group workshops, employee development programs and mindfulness coaching. The company is registered in Ireland, and offers services physically in UK and Ireland as well as online services globally.
In this Privacy Policy, we explain how we are processing your personal data, what type of personal data these activities involve, the purpose and the legal basis. We also explain when your personal data are disclosed to a third party.
This Privacy Policy applies to our collection, use and processing of your personal data. We collect, use and process your personal information when you use or show active interest in our services. This includes when you use our website, participate in our courses, write to us an inquiry or communicate with us by phone, e-mail, social media or alike requesting information on our courses. It should always be easy to update or take your data away. See information in paragraph 5 - "Contact Us".
2. Processing of your personal data:
a. What data, Why and How
We store your data if you attended one of our courses, shown direct interest in our courses (via social media or direct contact). The data may include: name, email, mobile, city/region/country, company/employer (where applicable for professional course attendees). Any personal data collected during one of our on line courses is deleted on completion of the course.
We collect these data for communication with you, for potential upcoming courses that may be of interest to you, statistics, to personalise content or for other marketing purposes. We use your data for sending you occasional relevant information, mindfulness inspiration or updates about our current courses and/or future courses that may be of interest to you. You can opt out from any email by clicking 'unsubscribe' at the end of the email.
We do not sell your personal data for marketing purposes to other companies.
We may only share your personal data: With our third-party service providers, who perform operations or work on our behalf as data processors (Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Jotform), but only for the purposes indicated in this Privacy Policy and in line with GDPR.
b. How long
We keep your data until you actively opt out from our mailing and request deletion (unless we are obliged to keep it by other laws) or after the reasonable amount of years without active contact with you which under many professional codes of ethics is a period of 7 years.
Cookies
We use cookies to personalise content, to provide social media features and to analyse our traffic. We may also share information about your use of our site with our social media, advertising and analytics partners (Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Jotform) who may combine it with other information that you’ve provided to them or that they’ve collected from your use of their services. You consent to our cookies if you continue to use our website. British Mindfulness Academy do not identify you through the use of our website.
3. Your rights
We keep your data safe and you have always the right to:
• know what information about you we store
• correct and update your details
• take away your details* (right to be forgotten)
• unsubscribe from our mailing list
*Unless other legislation requires us to keep some data, e.g. tax regulations demands archiving invoices for at least 7 years.
4. General
This policy may be occasionally updated/improved to make sure that the regulations are followed and that your data is protected. The changes will be shown on our website www.britishmindfulnessacademy.co.uk under “Privacy Policy” at the bottom. With major changes we may additionally send an extra communication about them to you.

If you just don’t want to receive any further newsletters, information about future courses, or communications to assist you with your mindfulness practice you can easily opt out from our mailing by clicking “Unsubscribe” button at the end of the email or email us at info@britishmindfulnessacademy.co.uk and we will remove you from our mailing list.
